Stanley J. Bigos MD
Dr. Bigos completed his medical studies and physical therapy training at the University of Missouri, and a spine fellowship with Dr. Alf Nachemson from the University of Gothenburg. He is an internationally recognized expert in spine and occupational injuries. His career promotes data driven care for spine and other musculoskeletal problems through reliable scientific outcomes research. Dr. Bigos is currently Professor Emeritus in the departments of Orthopedics and Environmental Health at the University of Washington, where he also founded and directed the Spine Resource Clinic. He was the Principle Investigator for the award winning Boeing Study of Occupational Injury Problems, is an international lecturer on topics related to spine care and occupational musculoskeletal problems, and has authored more than 100 publications. Dr. Bigos is a distinguished member of national and international societies, and his peers have recognized his achievements with prestigious awards. As a doctor, surgeon and researcher, Dr. Bigos remains interested in care of patients with back problems, to help them overcome the limitations due to back symptoms common to so many working and retired individuals.
